Structural Health Monitoring and Assessment in West Bengal

A structural health assessment tells you, with test evidence, whether a structure is safe today, how much life it has left, and which repair will cost less than rebuilding.

When You Need a Structural Health Assessment
- Visible cracks, spalling concrete, or exposed and rusted reinforcement
- Corrosion, section loss or cracked welds in steel structures
- Leakage, dampness, tilting or settlement
- An old building before purchase, renovation or adding floors
- A change of use or extra load, such as machinery, a water tank or a rooftop tower
- After an earthquake, fire, flood or impact damage
- Periodic safety audits required by authorities or owners
Our Assessment Process
- Visual condition survey – mapping of cracks, deflection, corrosion and distress, with photographs.
- Non-destructive testing (NDT) – testing concrete and steel without damaging the structure.
- Partial-destructive testing – core samples for laboratory testing where needed.
- Structural analysis – checking present capacity against current loads and IS codes.
- Report and recommendations – findings, remaining-life opinion and cost-conscious repair or retrofitting options.
Tests We Use in an Assessment
Every assessment is backed by measured evidence. For concrete, we use rebound hammer, ultrasonic pulse velocity, core testing, carbonation depth, half-cell potential, cover meter and chemical tests. For steel, we measure the remaining thickness of members and inspect welds and members for cracks.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will testing damage my building?
Non-destructive tests cause no damage. Core cutting leaves small holes, which are repaired immediately after sampling.
Can you check steel structures and welded connections?
Yes. We measure the remaining thickness of steel members and inspect welds and members for cracks.
Do you also design the repair?
Yes. We design the retrofitting and rehabilitation solution and can supervise its execution.
